SCOTLAND: Strikes to close seven Scottish airports

Seven Scottish airports will be forced to temporarily close later this month due to strikes by air traffic controllers, reports Travel Mole.

Members have rejected a pay offer by the owner of the Highlands and Islands airports, HIAL.

The union has organised three days of strikes, July 21 at Inverness airport, July 22 at Sumburgh, Kirkwall and Wick airport and July 23 at Dundee, Stornoway and Benbecula airport.

HIAL has confirmed the airports will each close for 24 hours during the strikes.
